SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for development and execution of marketing and business management activities for development of new products and categories; achieving volume and financial goals of the business, directing development and execution of annual business plan, new item development, consumer insights, and launch marketing programs including advertising and trade/consumer promotion.
Other duties include:
Identify new strategic opportunities for the VAMS business to compete; develop 3 year strategic plan and annual business plan that align resources to achieve innovation growth goals; manage a team toward achievement of sales, volume and financial objectives for new categories, segments and channels; manage the development of new product pipeline and direct execution of projects through stage gate approvals.
Other responsibilities include:
prioritize innovation initiatives and ensure internal and external resources are appropriately focused and aligned; provide proactive leadership to maintain a positive business climate and motivate team members; recruit, train and develop leaders in the marketing and innovation function; develop close working relationships with cross-functional team members, including Consumer Insights, Operations, Sales, Customer Marketing, Customer Insights, R &D, Sales Planning and business unit marketing teams; build strong partnerships with external agencies and partners.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: MBA degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 8 + years' experience in product development, strategic marketing, branding, and product management.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills:
Product innovation and brand management skills including product development, project management, financial analysis, consumer insight, trade/consumer promotion, advertising, and P&L abilities are keys to success; must have strong interpersonal skills so that the necessary alignment with internal and external groups can be developed quickly; demonstrated ability to assess theskills and developmental needs of subordinates and provide appropriate coaching and guidance; strong leadership skills ability to create and articulate a vision and drive to results.
Supervisory: Supervisory experience required.
Travel: 6+ trips per year.
