Our client is an independent production company looking to expand their business and continue to build on the core quality business they have established. We are looking for a production manager who desires to be a part of a growing organization and will be an integral part of this planning and execution in taking the business to the next level.

Key Responsibilities for the Seed Production Manager:

•     Establish and maintain the relationships with the growers across all growing regions
•     Reporting of crop conditions and changes to anticipated yields throughout season
•     Ability to improve overall bottom line of department by streamlining procedures, increasing yields, and evaluating production locations for cost effective means of yield outcome
•     Manage all crops and local managers throughout production locations
•     Understand labor compliance laws and be responsible for recruiting and hiring seasonal labor as needed
•     Develop and execute department action plans, strategies and budgets that will improve overall profitability of the company
•     Expand operations for better quality and success

Key Skills Necessary for the Seed Production Manager:

•     Seed Background with an understanding in Seed Production - preferably vegetable seed
•     Strong people skills and good motivator
•     Ability to grow and expand an operation
•     Good understanding of seed and plant physiology in regards to agronomic factors in seed production
•     Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or related discipline
•     Ability to travel to other production locations
