The manager will be responsible for the daily operations and management of the agronomy location in Wisconsin. This includes supervising staff, overseeing facilities, and coordinating agronomy operations to provide quality services and products to our customers while continuing to maximize opportunities to grow the business.
Essential Functions:
* Oversee and manage daily operations of location consisting of:
- dry and liquid fertilizer
- ag chem sales
- seed sales
- custom application
* Supervise and coordinate job tasks for staff.
* Provide strong customer service and work to develop/grow existing customer base.
* Responsible for inventory management and control.
* Complete monthly paperwork as required.
* Coordinate supplies and build relationships with vendors, customers and other locations.
* Plan and coordinate location department budgets, financial reports, asset purchases, and develop strategic planning opportunities.
* Review and recommend improvements for facilities and equipment.
* Complete timely performance appraisals for staff, coordinate staff training, and actively support employee growth.
* Demonstrate work habits that develop, build and support the team concept within the organization.
* General plant operations and maintenance.
* Resolve customer disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
* Review and maintain appropriate records for safety, regulation, finances and customer information.
Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of ag-management experience and/or training; or degree in agronomy or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong computer and communication skills are needed.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist or lift/move objects up to 100 lbs. The employee may be required to climb or be at elevated heights to load trucks or complete miscellaneous job duties. Ability to operate forklift, sprayers, tractors and other machinery is beneficial.
Work Environment: The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor job environments. The position requires the ability to plan, direct and work in a fast-paced team environment. Occasional operation of various vehicles and equipment along with lifting and hauling heavy equipment or materials may be necessary. May be exposed to loud noises, various chemicals, dusty areas, and extreme weather conditions at times.
