One of the top ten swine management companies in the United States, that has been growing consistently, is currently seeking an experienced Director of Operations to oversee their Finishing operations for the entire system. Farms are located throughout Illinois and Indiana. Position is located in West Central Rural Illinois.

Operations:
Responsible for the overall financial and production responsibilities of the finisher system. This covers production flows and feeding protocols.
Responsibilities also include making sure the production practices are followed and improvements are made to the system as needed to keep the system on the leading edge of production and profit.
Will also be in charge of making sure that all of the bio-security rules are followed to protect the health of the finisher system at all times.
Be a leader of production and growth of the system.
Additional duties include:
- Leads the finishing team
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS)
- Reviews and leads the logistic team on pig flows for incoming and outgoing pigs.
- Organizes marketing with logistics and production team
- Coordinates gilt sales and organizes quality control of replacement gilts
- Marks pigs to optimize weights to individual packers in the system
- Communicates with health team to insure the proper health of the system
- Communicates with the nutritional team and implements feed protocols to company standards
- Organizes maintenance issues of company owned facilities as well as communicates with production partners problems with their facilities
- Organizes regular meeting for production team and health providers
- Complies with the practices and principals of bio-security to safeguard the life and health of the swine herd Reviews financials with owner
- Reviews close outs with owners
- Assists in other duties as assigned by Director of operations and owners
To be considered for this role:
You must have a four year degree - Ag related and a minimum of 4 years experience in a wean to finish management role with financial responsibilities.
You must have demonstrated leadership and management skills over multiple locations.
Experience working with marketing and coordinating production with customer demand.
Knowledge in the areas of animal health and nutrition as well as bio-security protocols.
Ability to deal effectively at all levels of management particularly with owners.
Salary: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00
