Pioneer/DuPont's facility located in beautiful Johnston IA has a Sr Manager for Compliance position available. This is a highly visible, key role within the Platform Operations Enterprise. This Position will require a person of vision, integrity and commitment, as well as substantial leadership and influencing experience, maturity and judgment.

The Sr. Manager Compliance role will work closely with legal to coordinate communication of compliance requirements and compliance matrices to persons whose business roles necessitate their awareness and understanding of the requirements, and to coordinate translation of compliance matrices into specific compliance activities within operational plans. Communications will be contingent upon developing a close working relationship with the Legal Department with the expectation the legal team will be responsible for analyzing the agreements, interpreting requirements and defining performance expectations for the business.

Critical to ensuring effective execution is to proactively identify the contract, collaboration and trait purity requirements to achieve those business goals, from ideation through launch. The Platform Operations Compliance senior manager will ensure that these requirements along with resource needs and timeline implications are proactively identified, documented and incorporated into the platform decision making and project execution framework. This role will collaborate closely with legal, business development, strategic agreements and compliance team, IP/compliance teams within functions, governance and platform teams to develop processes for communication and reporting. Additionally, this team will be accountable to translate intellectual property strategy into defined and tracked execution activities with timeline and resource projections.

The Sr. Manager, Compliance will be responsible to execute and monitor compliance once the interpretations from Legal have been communicated.

Additionally this role supervises 5 Compliance Managers

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Lead compliance execution team in planning and implementing the post-execution management process for agreements with internal stakeholders.
    Responsibilities involve leading the compliance manager team to ensure contractual compliance by translating compliance matrices from legal into specific tasks within the organizational project plans which capture the requirement, resources, timing, accountable party, and mechanism of verification.
    Establish internal communication channels to ensure communication and delivery of agreement requirements to affected stakeholders. Coordinate communications to director, platform operations, legal and business development on activity status.
    Works with business development licensing and negotiation teams ensure the most effective and efficient process through coordination, design, and development of IM systems to coordinate efficient and appropriate information management for trait, collaboration and trait purity agreement management.

Skills:
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

    Strong science or technical background
    Minimum of a B.S. degree in a science or technical discipline,
    10 + years of work experience in life science or biotechnology business or technical management role
    Experience in coordinating and communicating sensitive legal information.
    Ability to travel and work extended hours.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

    M.S. preferred
    J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence)
    Project management experience
    Registration with USPTO beneficial
    Understanding of product development in a regulated environment as well as contract and basics of IP law desired.
