We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager in our State & Local Tax – Indirect Employment Tax practice to work with payroll technology. The payroll transformation manager will provide services to our clients around employment tax process reviews, implementation and testing of payroll systems, co-sourcing, and tax configuration reviews. The manager will also assist with traditional federal and state employment tax advisory services.

Responsibilities:
Demonstrate an understanding of complex payroll tax processes and systems and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Develop and deliver quality payroll tax technical approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations. Identify and present opportunities to better a client’s employment tax transformation.

Manage the work of client service team members. Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals.

Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client’s tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Lead in developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas.

To qualify, candidates must have:
*a bachelor’s degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
*a degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, and technology
*a minimum of 4 years of relevant payroll process and system tax consulting experience CPA or CPP certification, a payroll certification and/or systems certification a plus
*broad exposure to federal and state employment taxes
*strong technology systems experience
*excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
