Quality Assurance Manager

Growing feed manufacturing company in the Western US is looking for a driven leader to join their team as a Quality Assurance Manager.

Here are some of the activities you will be responsible for:

    Implementing and monitor regulatory FDA, USDA, cGMP HACCP, SOP,  Food Safety and Quality Management Programs compliance and effectively communicate results to management.
    Work with plant and sales personnel to resolve customer issues and complaints.
    Develop and manages departmental budget.
    Oversee microbiological testing and monitoring of the facility. Verify and interprets complex microbiological lab reports.
    Formulate procedures to provide standardization of testing applications, lab policies and procedures.
    Assures plant's adherence to policies and procedures.
    Train, direct and evaluate performance of plant QA and HACCP personnel.
    Track and maintain records for trend analysis of the plant's HACCP, Quality Management and feed safety programs.
    Coordinate and manage communications with plant management and local USDA on regulatory issues.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Engineering, Quality Sciences, or the equivalent. You must be proficient in root cause analysis techniques and with the US Bio-Terrorism Act and required procedures for compliance. Knowledge of industrial statistics, inspection methods and procedures is also required. Must have complete familiarity with and demonstrated implementation of recall procedures, policy writing and auditing programs.

Experience with Lean/TPS, ISO, Six Sigma or ASQ, CQE CQM Certification is highly desirable.
