The purpose of a Live Haul Driver is to transport live chickens from the poultry farms to the processing plant by means of tractor/trailer within required time constraints.
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.

Makes pre-trip and post-trip inspection of truck and every trailer pulled and makes written D.O.T. report on defects.

Drives to and from farms, both day and night, with a driving range of 20 minutes to 3 hours.

Makes 1 to 5 trips per shift.

Must cover trailer with canvas if temperature falls below 30 degrees Fahrenheit and at plant to cooling sheds fans will be turned on if temperature is at 70 degrees or above.

When arriving at plant the truck must be filled with gas before crossing scales.

Driving log must be filled out and turned in at the end of shift.

At least 18 years of age.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Strong work history, worked for one employer for at least 1 year in the past three years.

Willing and able to work in wet and extreme hot and cold conditions.

Willing and able to work around dust, feathers, animals, and various cleaning chemicals.

Good reading and writing skills required.

Must have a valid Class "A" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) for the state of North Carolina and meet relevant Perdue’s Safety Requirements,

2 years minimum prior/related experience required to be considered for this position.

Excellent work history, worked for one employer for more than 1 year in the past three years.

Valid Class "A" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) for the state of North Carolina and meet relevant Perdue’s Safety Requirements.
