Description:
The Clinical Informatics Manager position encompasses the development and management of clinical applications and standards under the leadership of a Director of Standards. The high-level responsibilities include:

  • Researching, developing, and managing clinical standards for applications and functions within the ACI/IMPACT program
  • Standardize the clinical content across the organization and collaborate with various subject matter experts and facilitate advisory councils for assigned applications and clinical groups.
  • Communicates within and across various teams including but not limited to core system builders using design spreadsheets and office applications to communicate designs, corporate clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supervises small group of specialist/analysts to achieve goals
  • Applies professional organizations standards to guide standard and workflow development
  • Manage the development, optimization and the execution of the IMPACT program for designated clinical applications/function areas to include such activities as:
  • - Processing of change requests: Analysis, design, design validation, creation of test plan, establish the training materials for educating clinicians as needed. establish appropriate communication strategies to disseminate change requests and communicate changes in standards to appropriate groups.
  • - Oversees standards update to support Tenet policies and procedures
  • - Work collaboratively with a diverse group stakeholders (e.g., physicians, clinicians, executives) to develop design for changes requested by EHR users
  • Remains up to date on current system functionality and established recommended practices in the industry and by vendor as appropriate
  • Working with IMPACT teams to plan and support the adoption of new system designs and associated workflows
  • Oversees the creation of appropriate policies and procedures
  • Periodic evaluation of compliance with clinical standards in hubs and at hospital sites
  • Facilitating interdisciplinary work teams to support high priority initiatives
  • Troubleshooting with support as needed on user issues with design
  • Understanding regulatory compliance requirements that will impact the program (e.g., Meaningful Use, CMS, Joint Commission, CDC and related compliance organizations)
  • Assures clinical content is developed and maintained in accordance with state, federal, accrediting body statues, regulatory agencies, industry standards, and corporate policies and procedures
  • Provides collaborative support to the ACI Team and overall IMPACT program by assuming responsibilities for effective EMR implementation as assigned
  • Coordinates, monitors work efforts with vendor and support
  • Contributes to budget process planning with oversight for team expenses
  • Provides feedback to application vendor to support future enhancements

Qualifications:
Customer-focused, service-directed and passionate about using technology to support quality, safety, efficiency and improved outcomes.
  •     Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field required, Master's preferred
  •     Active clinical license/certification preferred
  •     Informatics certification, preferred
  •     Previous experience in a supervisory ormanagement role in Healthcare (required)
  •     Experience in multi-facility, multi-state organizations
  •     Previous experience with design, implementation and support of Cerner clinical systems (required)
  •     Analytical skills required to collect information from diverse sources, intepret results and appy knowledge of best practices in the development of solutions for process and product improvement
  •     Effective interpersonal, team building and listening skills
  •     Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  •     Effective leadership skills and strong customer service orientation
  •     Strong oral and written communication skills
  •     Experience with Microsoft Office Products to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
