Smart Grid Back End Web Developer!

The successful candidate will provide software solutions for smart grid and power utility customers.
Developing software and applications for control, monitoring and automation of the network.
Designing and developing of software interfaces, gathering statistics, collecting and analyzing all relevant data.
Design and develop interfaces to utility telecommunications networks as well as to the SCADA systems and other operations and support systems.
Possible work modeling and simulation of distribution area electrical power systems using commercially available software.

Desired Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
3 years’ experience in software development ideally with an emphasis on smart grid solutions
Proficiency in C++ Java Python on multiple computing platforms (such as Windows and Linux)
-Experience designing, deploying and managing large scale high availability enterprise systems
Sound knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and experience with large SQL based systems
Ability to develop software interfaces (APIs) for electric utility and SCADA systems such as multispeak, DNP3, SOAP, Java, CIM-XML, OPC, REST, XML-RPC, IEC 61850
Strong network fundamentals including the OSI model, TCP/IP, IPv4 and working knowledge of IPv6
Knowledge and hands on experience with Encryption protocols and Security, such as IPSec, Public Key Cryptography, SSL/TLS, AES, NERC/NIST standards

Nice to have-
Familiarity with smart grid technologies, such as distribution automation, Volt/VAR optimization, distributed energy resource integration, smart metering technologies, energy storage systems and Distribution Management System
Experience in data analytics and optimization
Expertise with Linux or other server operating systems
Use of version control tools such as Git or Subversion
