Job Description:
A leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals in the global marketplace has the immediate requirement for a purchasing manager for their Virginia facility.​

Responsibilities:
    Manage total cost of assigned portfolio, supporting several divisions and operations of the company.​
    Develop, maintain and grow supplier relationships and manage supplier quality
    Drive cost objectives and increase bottom line of organization using strong negotiation skills and strategies to build long term relationships with suppliers.​
    Manage cost strategic purchasing objectives and drive improvement
    Manage team of purchasing professionals, provide training and mentorship, complete employee evaluations.​
    Provide management team with procurement activities impact, processes and improvement results
    Ability to work cross functionally within the company, manage team, build rapport
    Strong business knowledge of the chemical and product marketplace.​
    Ability to travel 25%​

Requirements:
    BS Degree
    MS or MBA strongly preferred
    10+​ years procurement experience in the chemical industry
    CPM, CPIM, CPSM or other APICS certification strongly preferred
