We currently have a career opportunity for a State & Local Tax Senior Manager, specializing in credits (statutory) and/or incentives (negotiated), to manage multiple and challenging tax engagements and contribute to the delivery of such services to the marketplace. This position offers excellent opportunities for teaming, leadership and career advancement to the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate an understanding of multi-state credit and incentive programs, Federal WOTC and local incentive programs. Be able to effectively apply state-specific income tax laws to client situations. Deliver work products that meet or exceed client expectations. Identify and present credit and incentive opportunities as well as ancillary tax planning and other special services.
Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client’s tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Lead in developing recommendations and implementation plans and make informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas.
Manage the work of client service team members. Participate in and contribute to attaining team goals.
To qualify, candidates must have:
* a bachelor’s degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a master’s degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience
* a degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or economics preferred; an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable
* CPA, JD or Enrolled Agent certification
* a minimum of 6 years of relevant tax consulting experience or the equivalent experience in business or industry
* broad exposure to state and local taxation
* strong managerial skills and a proven record in leading teams
* advanced organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills
* demonstrated business development skills
