Pasture Beef Manager

You will be responsible for the oversight of all departments at the Pasture Beef Cattle Facility and for leading the team to meet operational and financial goals. You will be the primary contact with the consulting veterinarian and nutritionist and you will have responsibility for implementing their recommendations.

Specific duties will include:

    Oversight of the cattle receiving function, including initial evaluation of cattle received and communication of pertinent details to the staff.
    Scheduling of initial processing and routine cattle movements, supervision of treatment of sick cattle, oversight of cattle shipments, and ensuring that all associated records are accurate and complete.
    Leadership and management of the staff, including establishing the daily activity schedule for pen riders, equipment operators, maintenance crew, and feeding crew.
    Communicating with customers on cattle performance, discussion of placements, and possible ranch visits.
    Working with the cattle procurement team to ensure placements are in line with customer demand.
    Leading the safety program by conducting training, safety observations, and incident investigations.
    Ensure low stress cattle handling methods are being used at all times.
    Training and developing employees in their daily tasks so they take pride in the quality of work they perform.

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite, have 5 years of experience in the cattle industry, be a true team player, and possess an outstanding ability as a leader and manager.
