Corporate encompasses the core operational support for all Land OLakes businesses. It includes Business Development Services, Corporate Market Strategy and Communications, Finance, Law, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Affairs.
Position Purpose:
Land O'Lakes is looking for talented Finance and Accounting candidates with strong leadership skills for our Summer Internship Program. As a Finance and Accounting Intern, you will become a key business team member working on special projects and assignments with tangible business impact in one of our departments. Potential departments include: Corporate Accounting, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, Internal Audit, Credit, and the SOX departments.
Corporate Accounting is responsible for SEC external reporting, managing the monthly close process, ensuring accounting entries and policies follow GAAP, keeping current with accounting pronouncements, and managing the external audit process. Corporate Accounting tasks could include performing parts of the monthly close process, process improvement projects, and other special assignments.
Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis at Land O'Lakes is responsible for managing the capital requests, annual planning, and forecasting for the entire company as well as performing various financial analyses to assist senior management with decision making. Corporate FP&A Department tasks could include working with the Hyperion Essbase tool to enhance reporting, analysis, forecasting, and planning solutions, reviewing Business unit capital requests, and preparing financial models and analysis as requested to answer requests from management.
Audit is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the company's existing systems of control. Monitor compliance with corporate policies by means of transaction testing, verification of assets, and process reviews.
The SOX department is responsible for the company's SOX compliance, managing periodic testing, and validating proper documentation of key controls and tasks. SOX tasks could include assisting with control testing, reviewing process documentation, and other special projects.
Qualifications:
Experience-Education (Required):
Pursuing a four-year degree in Business, Finance or an Accounting field at a Sophomore level or higher, carrying a 3.0 GPA or above. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Strong attention to detail, system aptitude, finance/accounting knowledge, good communication skills, and quick learner
