Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Make sales calls throughout assigned territory to determine agronomy needs, create solutions and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of see, fertilizer, Ag chemicals and agronomy services.
Plans and carries out test plots at farms to demonstrate improved varieties of field crops such as corn and soybeans to sue as a sales tool.
Develop and maintain a current list of customers and prospects and rate them based on potential size of operations, credit worthiness and other pertinent marketing information.
Keep current on agronomic products, trends, problems, services, and resources to sell agronomy products in an ethical manner.
Recommends and sells products and programs to the producer within the company credit and pricing policies.
Relays competitive sales, pricing and marketing information to management in a timely manner.
Communicates with management about products being sold or prepaid and problems with products, programs, or producers. Relays requested sales contract and other pertinent information to management.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as factions, percentages, and ratios.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, accounting, and precision Ag software.

Certificates and Licenses:
Maintain a CCA certificate as well as any other appropriate certifications. Maintain valid drivers license and insurability at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Education/Job Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales agronomist role.
