CHS has an exciting opportunity at our Oilseed Processing facility located in Creston, IA. We are looking for a Production Manager to manage all aspects of a 24/7 continuous food grade flour processing and packaging operation. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, have the ability to multi-task, and problem solve.


You Will:
Ensure all goals, objectives, workplace policies and procedures, and environmental regulations are followed and executed in the most timely and efficient manner.
Effectively schedule mills, bins, packaging, warehousing, and appropriate milling equipment; and manage personnel to ensure flour sales and customer requirements are consistently and efficiently met.
Oversee and compare production results to establish goals (customer satisfaction, customer complaints, accidents/injuries, audit scores, GMP inspection reports, percent or rework/product rejection, unscheduled downtime, etc.).  Evaluate deficiencies, conduct root cause analysis, and make recommendations for process improvement.
Facilitate communication, training, team building, and operations management to meet all personnel safety, food safety, production, quality, and efficiency goals.
Supervise and provide general work direction, guidance, and coaching to Shift Supervisors and Operators.
Maintain strong and effective working relationships with engineering and quality control to ensure production problems are detected and resolved in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate with maintenance to set priorities and requirements for all repair and preventative maintenance needs for the operation.
Collaborate with engineering, sales, EHS, and QA personnel to continuously improve plant operations, utilizing studies and projects that target improvement in areas such as food safety, personnel safety, compliance, quality, customer needs, process efficiency, equipment reliability, production growth, and personnel optimization.
Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure a consistently safe food product that meets all government, customer, CHS and third party audit requirements and regulations.
Identify new equipment or modification of existing equipment and lead in planning and implementation.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and CHS programs.
Ensure the timely filing of all required reports and maintain compliance with OSHA and all other applicable government regulations.
Work extended hours during scheduled maintenance and periods of equipment malfunctions, outages, or to meet business demands.
Work in dusty conditions, changing temperatures, and climb ladders.

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business
8 years food manufacturing operations or flour milling experience to include:
3 years of supervisory / team lead experience
3 years in a food grade facility
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local food safety standards.
Able to spend considerable time on feet including walking, standing, and climbing steps.
Able to push, pull and physically lift 50 pounds from the floor, to the waist, and above the head.
Able to work in dusty conditions, changing temperatures, and climb ladders
Be familiar with plant construction, process manufacturing equipment and continuous chemical process operations.
