SUMMARY
The Lead Operator will plan, prioritize, coordinate and direct Operators when no supervisor is present and will be accountable for contacting management with plant issues and concerns. Lead operators are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment and be aware of hazards associated with the process.
Lead Operators are also responsible for working with the Quality Department to ensure that all samples are complete and accurate and assisting with complex problems/situations and provide technical expertise. Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work. Team member must be able to adapt to 12-hour workdays and meet call-in requirements as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Secondary education preferred.
Two (2) plus years’ experience in production required.
Forklift certification and valid driver’s license with proof of insurance may be required.
Understand product flows from beginning to end, plant water balance and distillation energy balance.
Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.
