Variable Rate Technologies (VRT) Specialist Job Description

Land O’Lakes is seeking an individual to join our team at a progressive member cooperative in to maintain and grow business in the expanding field of Precision Agriculture.
 The VRT Specialist will be responsible for not only building GPS mapping business, but offering customer service and support with installing and teaching software systems.
The VRT specialist will act as a consultant to improve the precision of existing agronomic management activities with forward-thinking growers.

Responsibilities include:

Meeting with growers to educate, promote, market and sell the benefits of precision Ag equipment and parts including; guidance systems, auto steer systems, planter/sprayer controls.

Installing and providing technical support on VRT technology over the phone and in-person.

Work with growers from the field level, transferring information between growers and the local cooperative.

Assist in lining up soil sampling and GPS mapping for the service area-serving over 5000 acres within the first few months.

Bring leading-edge ideas and technology to the team to recommend innovative methods utilizing VRT.
Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and at least one year related experience and/or training in agricultural systems technologies. It also will be helpful to have working knowledge ag equipment mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Must have a valid drivers license and ability to work long/flexible hours during spring and fall seasons. Applicants also need to be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
