Plant Technology Analyst 1 – (Food Group – Idaho)

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held organization, with roots firmly planted in agriculture and agriculture-related businesses. These endeavors have been around for centuries and will continue to be a vital part of the global economy. We currently have a Plant Technology Analyst position available at our newest manufacturing facility in Caldwell, ID.

Summary

This analyst will provide technical support relating to IT related technologies including desktops, laptops, mobile clients, network, hardware, and software systems. The analyst coordinates activities with other IT personnel or departments to ensure delivery of functional systems and services in a timely manner. The person in this position provides guidance, assists in implementing enterprise standards at the local level, and works with business and other IT team members to implement new projects and technology.

Responsibilities

- Assures data backup, computer/network security and power protection are within IT guidelines. Participates on technical project teams to enhance the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of technical support

- Builds and maintains hardware inventory. Builds and maintains IT documentation for areas supported. Maintains current knowledge of information systems technology. Makes recommendations where applicable

- Performs installations, repair, upgrades, and troubleshooting for software and hardware. Provides installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for all LAN infrastructures

- Works with other IT department teams to comply with standards, work on projects, and helps implement business or IT solutions

- Provides server administration for local servers. Provides application administration and support, where applicable. Assesses problems/ resolutions to determine where improvements can be made or trends identified

- Works on complex problems, projects, or tasks. Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devices or modifies procedures to process data and solve problems. Seen as technical lead for the team and client support problems

- Works with plant process control personnel to support control system IT components (servers, networking, software upgrades, maintenance and configuration, all network connected control devices and process equipment, interfaces between control system and various other IT systems etc.)

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred
- Five plus years related experience and/or training

Technical Skills:

-Microsoft Server Operating System
-Microsoft SQL server
-VMWare ESXi
-VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
-Terminal Services/Thin Client computing
-Storage Area Networks

-SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
