Overview:

Develop the necessary skills to manage a full-service commercial grain operation with participation in both commercial and operational activities.


Essential Functions:

Commercial Functions

•     Originate grain at acceptable historical and budgeted levels
•     Grain merchandising
•     Plant logistics
•     Maintain and expand the customer base
•     Producer communication
•     Become fluent in the accounting functions which include:  inputting contracts, contract/ticket applications, customer reports, daily activity reports, and month end accounting

Operational Functions

•     Repairs and preventative maintenance
•     Work outdoors in the elevator
•     Grain grading
•     Inventory management
•     Rail, truck, and barge loading/unloading
•     Procure safety and maintenance supplies

Management Functions

•     Training and educating all personnel on-site
•     Monitor and maintain plant safety inspection programs and records
•     Resolve employee relations issues
•     Employee supervision
•     Assist in the administration of the corporate safety program

•     Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, agricultural business, business or related discipline required or five years of relevant experience
•     Background in production agriculture is desirable
•     Comfortable working safely in high places and over water
•     Demonstrated organization and planning capabilities
•     Demonstrated analytical aptitude and interest
•     Good verbal and written communication skills
•     Willingness to relocate
