The product manager for Nematodes and Colobiotics is responsible for the financial performance of the corresponding product portfolio in the short and in the long term. The product manager provides input for the market position and technical development of  Nematodes and Colobiotics  to support the implementation of marketing and sales strategies and polices in the assigned areas. 
The job role implies a close cooperation with sales/marketing personnel and technical service laboratory to understand and apply production techniques to enhance business opportunities via product applications, meet customer expectations and solve technical problems.

Furthermore the product manager is responsible for the strategic development of the product portfolio and provides information for long-term planning and strategic decision making. 
1.    Market knowhow and business strategy:
Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect the market for  Nematodes and Colobiotics . Provide input for the strategic development of the  Nematodes and Colobiotics  product portfolio. Provide input for the 10y forecast.
2.    Sales Guardrails:
Derive sales guardrails for  Nematodes and Colobiotics from 10y FC and take responsibility that guardrails are communicated to regions.
3.    Product Portfolio Management:
Responsible for the global management of the  Nematodes and Colobiotics  product portfolio and implementation of portfolio in the regions.
4.    Customer needs:
Execute regular customer visits/calls, research customer needs and develop application of products and services effectively. Consolidate information concerning product performance, customers' expectation and intelligence on competitors and trigger product modification.
5.    Product Development:
Identify potential for new products in the area of  Nematodes and Colobiotics  for global and regional markets. Set priorities and trigger lead user projects for development of new products. Provide data for the preparation of business cases for R&D project proposals.
6.    Market Launches:
Promote and co-ordinate launch of new products worldwide. Participate as part of a product launch team to ensure smooth introduction of the product in customer serving processes.
7.    Sales Material:
Prepare marketing measures to support regional sales. Share with the sales team via reporting/ workshops the experience gained in technical service laboratories, manufacturing processes etc. Provide content for the preparation of sales material and training.
8.    Technical Marketing:
Define/ describe product performance. With APG/F, follow-up on customer complaints concerning technical related issues.

9. Cost of goods management:
Manage the development of standard COGs. Discuss and analyze cost factors with Production, supply Chain and purchasing and give guidelines for the long term development of COGs.

Required:
BS degree + 8 years work experience OR MBA + 5 years work experience.
At least 2 years of work experience in product management.
Strong communication skills and the ability to convince others are essential.

Preferred:
  • Experience working internationally in a multi-cultural environment.
  • BS degree in marketing or related field.
  • Agricultural business experience.
  • Experience with nematodes and biologicals.
