Senior Safety and Health Specialist,
Job Description:
The Safety and Health Specialist provides technical support for the entire organization and promotes the improvement of safety performance on the job and off the job.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Develops implements and evaluates global programs and policies to assure personnel and facility safety. Program areas include: electrical, explosive, high pressure, construction and robotics safety.
· Monitors and controls the organization’s safety & health standards in accordance with OSHA and international standards.
· Maintains professional knowledge of protective equipment and existing and proposed changes in Federal and Countries ESH regulations.
· Supports the organization to develop and implement programs and record keeping systems to track and evaluate personnel injury and illness experience.
· Conducts global trend analysis, audits, accident investigations and site inspections of operational procedures, facility design, equipment and materials.
· Develops processes to measure trends & track improvements in data and develop data quality solutions to reduce time spent characterizing & cleaning data; support complex data analysis requests; creates & presents summary statistics & reports to management.
· Analyzes global data and advises appropriate recommendations to prevent new or recurring accidents.
· Develops and conducts employee ESH training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs.
· Participates in ESH project reviews for evaluating and approving material and equipment requisition, new and modified processes and non-routine work.
· Operates with a vision of the Safety & Health future and determine achievable steps along the path to move the organization.
· Supports strategic planning for monitoring and preventing chemical, biological, physical hazards and diseases present throughout different organizations.
· Directs corporate audits of health and safety program to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.
· Promotes communication programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident and fire prevention, industrial hygiene and health compliance.
· Provides technical support to all organizations globally.
· Coordinates global ESH networks.
· Supports the Process Safety Program efforts.

· Provides leadership to less experienced engineers and to technicians through work assignments, monitoring schedules and resolving problems. May act as lead person or technical expert on medium to large projects.
· Develops relationships with other companies and associations in the area of safety and health to share best practices, leverage learning/resources and benchmark.


Qualifications & Requirements:

· Occupational Safety and Health or related degree is required.
· 10 years of experience in the ESH. CIH or CSP is preferable

· Demonstrated experience in TapRoot, Certified Lean and/or Six Sigma · Black Belt with proven experience in applying Lean and Six Sigma tools and leading process improvement projects.
· Black Belt required.
· Self-starter with the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Must have skills in developing process documentation including process maps and value stream maps and leading Lean Kaizen Events
· Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills.
· Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
· Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
· Ability to analyze information and make decisions quickly and accurately.
· Strong influence skills and demonstrated ability to work with networks.
· Detail-oriented with good facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work as individual contributor and as part of diverse team.
· Computer proficiency in Windows based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Knowledge of Risk Analysis techniques and vulnerability studies is plus.
