BASF’s North America Regulatory Affairs at BASF’s facility in RTP, NC is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Regulatory Support Specialist who is proficient in desktop publishing software; detail oriented, and has excellent organizational and communication skills.
The successful candidate will join the BASF team with responsibility for producing and proofreading labels as well as producing data matrices and assembling documents which support the registration of BASF products (Pest Control & Crop Protection). The position reports to the Product Registration Manager and works with members of the North American Regulatory Affairs and Manufacturing Departments.
Job Responsibilities: Labeling:
Produce and proofread labels to support regulatory activities. Provide user training as needed; manage mass label changes (due to PR Notice or market needs).
Ensure that federal and/or state labels are consistent in logic and format and meet BASF guideline and quality standards. Interpret EPA label guidelines to ensure that labels meet requirements.
Maintain label databases and interact with users and data suppliers to ensure accuracy.
Interact with IT as needed to enhance the available systems when needed.
Participate in system upgrades and new system development projects to support and improve labeling processes, in conjunction with IT department.
Registrations:
Generate and/or assemble appropriate documents, data submissions, or labels which support the development, registration and marketing of BASF products. These materials must adhere to customer quality standards as well as to regulatory compliance standards.
Maintain registration and document records in state registration databases.

Required:
Bachelor Degree, or equivalent experience.
6 plus years of experience within an office environment.
Highly proficient in desktop software such as MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe.
Ability to work with Adobe Acrobat PDF files and to use advanced document comparison software.
Expert proofreading skills of your own work, as well as documents from other sources.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills directed toward the completion of task-oriented procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary. Self-motivation, ability to work with minimum supervision and to meet deadlines is necessary.

Preferred:
Bachelor degree within a scientific or computer discipline.
Experience within an office environment with responsibility for document preparation and proofreading, information coordination/publication, electronic document preparation/filing, preferably of a technical nature in a regulated industry, or demonstrated comparable ability.
Publishing software experience with the following: QuarkXpress, and/or InDesign, and/or Illustrator, and/or Documentum CMS.
