ABOUT THE POSITION:
The CFO is responsible for all financial matters of Scaroni Family of Companies and its affiliate organizations
Report to and work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement strategies across the organization and must be a motivated self-starter
Will require travel to Imperial Valley, Salinas and occasional travel to Mexico
Flexible and willing to do whatever is required to get the job done
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide leadership by example, establishing and maintaining quality standards
Oversee month end and financial close and reporting process
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed
Oversee cash, investment, and asset management
Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as maintain healthy banking relationships
Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analysis to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
Manage the development and monitoring of annual budgets
Develop financial business plans and forecasts
Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team
Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections
Represent the Company to business partners, including financial institutions, insurers, auditors, public officials, etc.
Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions
Mentor and develop a direct finance team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic
Remain up-to-date on Scaroni Family of Companies and state and federal tax law
Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of the financial reporting to Scaroni Family of Companies’ Board of Directors/Owners; oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements
Manage yearly audits and proper and timely filing of tax returns
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum 15 years accounting experience at the Controller/CFO level
Thorough knowledge of general and cost accounting procedures in the agriculture industry including but not limited to growing, harvesting, cooling, and transporting
Good computer skills with extensive knowledge of MS Excel and General Ledger systems; FAMOUS software a plus
CPA License preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
