Position Purpose:

Engineering Manager provides direction and support to the maintenance/engineering organization with direct supervision of the maintenance managers at both Kiel and Denmark WI facility.
Responsible for conducting engineering assessments, cost estimates, design requirements and execution of capital projects.
This individual will work closely with plant management / corporate functions on development of project scope, process design, capital and expense estimates, contractor / vendor selection, equipment specifications and purchases, implementation timeline and coordination of execution plans. This also includes focus on planning and implementation of maintenance enhancements that will improve productivity while assuring highest levels of safety, quality, sanitation and regulatory compliance. Manages site assets, facility maintenance and modifications of equipment and ensures that mechanical and electrical expertise is available to production and other departments to maintain production systems, equipment, utilities, buildings and grounds.


Qualifications:
Experience-Education (Required)
A four year Bachelors Degree in Engineering from a credited university.

Minimum of 8 years experience in manufacturing - preferably food/dairy industry; solid project management, manufacturing processes, utilities, facilities construction. Process Control knowledge, electrical knowledge, strong Mechanical Aptitude, familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Ability to follow Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes/Lean Maintenance, ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies. Prepare process designs, equipment specifications and capital estimates for process upgrades, modifications to existing systems and installation / commissioning of new assets.

Provide methods, equipment recommendations and standard operating practices to optimize processes and meet product specifications. Facilitate training as necessary. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change. Solid skills in organization, prioritizing and attention to detail. Ability to select, coach, develops, engage and retain a team of employees. Extensive project management planning and oversight experience Computer Skills including: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, Project, and Visio. Ability to manage to a maintenance department operating budget.
