Analyzes, recommends, approves, or denies credit actions originated by FCMA or Participation Partners. Provides direction and support to Agribusiness, field staff and Participation Partners on credit related issues. Provides support, when appropriate, for the large and/or complex loans. Assists in all other activities of the Agribusiness Finance Group and the Capital Markets Department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1.    Provides excellent customer service on credit direction, decisions, support, and processing for credit actions, while maintaining sound loan quality and credit administration.
2.    Prepares credit recommendations for approval or submission to the proper approval authority.
3.    Processes and reviews financial information, and determines the appropriate loan structure and conditions.
4.    Provides support for creating and reviewing closing documents for FCMA originated loans.
5.    Provides support and reviews loan closing documents for loans received through Participation Partners.
6.    Maintains an effective follow up process to ensure compliance with credit agreement covenants and conditions for compliance.
7.    Represents and communicates the mission and values of Farm Credit Mid-America and complies with its conduct policy, security policy and confidentiality to employees, customers, public, and other target audiences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, agriculture or related field and one to three years experience in credit analysis. This level of Credit Officer has demonstrated the capability to function within the Credit Trainee position. No credit authority.
