Provide computer and software application support for researchers and central support responsible for managing and maintaining data pertaining to maize life cycle management in the North America region.
The Research Associate will work with project leaders and a dedicated scrum team to support data management and software needs of research and business partners.


The successful applicant will be part of a team providing software support for researchers and partners working in Research, Business, Marketing, and Supply Management department.
The Research Associate will be expected to help manage information effectively by analyzing needs, providing ad-hoc reporting, troubleshooting/validating software issues, proactively communicating solutions, and providing training and support in the use of software and database applications.
The Research Associate is also expected to implement new and existing tools by providing feedback to the development scrum team, understanding tools, preparing documentation, and providing training to client support. The successful applicant will be open to sharing knowledge and guidance with other support areas of DuPont Pioneer including non-research users, teams, and support channels.

Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in agronomy, plant biology, breeding/genetics or related scientific field and minimum of 2 to 4 years of industry related experience is required. Equivalent amount of relevant education and experience will be considered.
Technical education or experience in information systems is a strong advantage.

Competencies:
Familiarity with personal computers, software, handheld data collection devices, client-server technology and their application to research, business, marketing, supply chain areas.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated advanced application of Excel and Access for processing, analysis and presentation of research/business information.
Basic understanding of relational databases and ability to extract and summarize large amounts of data.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage priorities in multi-task work environment.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment as well as independently without direct supervision at times.
Computer user education or similar training/teaching experience.
Some overnight travel will be required.
