FERTILIZER TERMINAL MANAGER

SUMMARY:  Manages operations for fertilizer terminal by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.  Must primarily manage a recognized department or subdivision and regularly supervise employees with a minimum equivalence of 80 hours per week (2 fulltime = 80 hours or 1 fulltime and 2 part-time = 80 hours).  Also, must exercise independent choice and judgment in matters of consequence 50% or more of the time.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 Manages product integrity through coordination with agents and surveyors.

 Manages and supervises the receipt, storage and distribution of products from rail cars and Trucks to insure all customer and vendor requirements are met.

 Assists in developing and implementing operational procedures for efficient distribution of all products in compliance with Helena safety/security and environmental guidelines. Responsible for safety program including conducting and planning safety meetings.

 Provides daily management reports to corporate headquarters on terminal activities.

 Assists in managing and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met including required inspections are conducted with all regulatory agencies.

 Assist in establishing and managing the terminal budget.
 Effectively interface with customer representatives, regulators, Helena staff and other as required.
 Manages the physical location determining equipment needs, site improvement and safety needs.

 Assigns duties to location personnel, evaluates the performance of location personnel, and motivates and trains personnel to assure maximum utilization of the location staff.

 Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

 Regular and reliable attendance is required.

 SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:  Supervises 3-4 employees who perform manual duties required to unload, load, repair, etc. products and to maintain location equipment and appearance.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years managing a fertilizer terminalor similar business, including experience negotiating with Railroads.

 OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

 Knowledge of fertilizer blending systems and implementation.
 Knowledge of terminal plumbing infrastructure and Driscol pipe.
 Understanding of fertilizer transportation and logistics.
 Understanding of forecasting product needs.
 Accounting knowledge.
 Microsoft office
 Good interpersonal skills.
